when you lengthen the upper arm to correct for camber, because the upper arm is at about a 45* angle to the car, not perpendicular, you move the upper end of the vertical arm forward as much as you move it to vertical. To correct the caster, you must then shorten the Tension-Rod, which moves the lower end of the vertical arm forward. So now the whole assembly has been moved forward in the wheel well...
